Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

STATEMENT OF INCLUSION

At Kentucky Country Day School, we believe that diversity, equity, and inclusion are essential to the fulfillment of our school’s mission. We embrace diversity of all kinds including but not limited to race, gender identity and expression, family structure, ethnicity, learning style, faith, sexual orientation, and economic background. In an ever-changing world, we are committed to cultivating a diverse and inclusive community where all people are treated with respect and dignity. Kentucky Country Day School is a place where all perspectives and experiences are valued both inside and outside the classroom, and where everyone has the opportunity to succeed.
Kentucky Country Day School is committed to living as an authentic, inclusive community. We believe that students benefit significantly from an education that affirms respect and inclusivity as core values. We aspire to be a school community that not only values the principles of equity and inclusivity, but also a community that puts principles to practice on a daily basis.
"Our students come from different faith, socioeconomic, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds, and they all bring their own passions, talents, and personalities. In order for ALL of our students to feel valued, they need to feel understood and supported. We must model for our children the power of living as an authentic, inclusive community. Diversity does not happen in isolation. In order to create a truly diverse community, all members play a significant role. It is an institution-wide commitment that welcomes administration, faculty, trustees, staff, students, parents, alumni, and the community at large to participate. I invite you to help build on KCD's long-standing history of celebrating diversity and community. Please join us in this challenging, yet vital work."
