Summer Stretch 2010

Welcome to Summer Stretch 2010 at Kentucky Country Day School! Campers can choose between academic and enrichment opportunities, sports, and the arts in a caring and nurturing environment that promotes healthy minds and bodies.
KCD camps begin the week of June 7th!

All courses offered at KCD are open to students in the Greater Louisville Community. Our programs are open to all, regardless of race, creed, or ethnic origin. Please see course listings for grade and age requirements. You may mail or deliver registration form(s) and payment to: Kentucky Country Day School, Attn: Cassandra Payne, 4100 Springdale Road, Louisville, KY 40241. Full payment is due at the time of registration (no exceptions).Classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. A minimum and a maximum number of attendees are required for most courses. You will be notified if a class is full or has been cancelled due to lack of enrollment at least two weeks before the class begins.

Payment
Payment may be made in the form of check or credit card. All checks should be made payable to Kentucky Country Day School. Payment must be received at the time of registration. All registrations subject to the 10% early registration discount must be post marked by May 15, 2009. Please note that all courses are not subject to the 10% discount. Such courses are noted online and in the Summer Stretch 2010 catalog.

Refunds
Refunds less 25% will be made to those who withdraw from a course three (3) weeks prior to the class’s start date. After that, a refund will not be given for any reason.A full refund will be made in cases where the course has been cancelled by KCD.

First Day of Camp
All campers will meet in the lobby of the JK-8 building on the first day of camp with the following exceptions:
• Bearcat Day Camp meets at The Gardner Gymnasium
• Field Hockey and Lacrosse meet at the pavilion.
• Bearcat Future Football Champions meets at the football field.*More details will be sent with your course confirmation.

Lunch and Snack
All campers registered for Bearcat Day Camp or other day long camp must bring a sack lunch and a drink daily. Refrigeration is available upon request. Lunch time is available for those attending the AM, PM, daily sessions of Bearcat Day Camp, and for those transferring from a morning to an afternoon camp. It is recommended that your child bring his/her own water bottle to carry throughout the day, especially if participating in a sports camp.

Dress Code
All children should wear cool, comfortable clothing appropriate for their specific camp. Please see the notes in the course descriptions regarding additional equipment and supplies that may be needed.

Directions
Coming from downtown Louisville going north: Take I-64 E towards I-71 N. Merge onto I-71 via exit 6 towards Cincinnati. Go about nine miles and then take exit 9A to merge onto I-265 South (Gene Snyder). Take the first exit (exit 34) to merge (right) onto Brownsboro Road (KY 22). At the second stoplight, turn right onto Springdale Road. The school is on the left.

A quick note about Bearcat Day Camp
Fun during the summer is endless at KCD! Spend time with your friends while learning new games and playing some old favorites. Activities include fun, friendly instructional play in a variety of sports, arts and crafts, and weekly swimming. Bearcat Day Camp Director, Arron Davis, a KCD teacher and coach, will offer a well-rounded, fun, and nurturing camp experience for children in grades JK through entering 5th. Bearcat Day Camp emphasizes sportsmanship, skill improvement, teamwork and tons of fun. The ratio of campers to counselors is approximately 10:1. Children should bring a sack lunch and a drink daily. Refrigeration is provided. A snack will be provided each day. All children should wear cool, comfortable clothing and athletic shoes appropriate for camp. Swim clothes, a towel, and sunscreen should also accompany children attending Bearcat Day Camp in the afternoon session only. Bearcat Den will swim on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.Bearcat Day Camp is available weekly, June 7 – August 9. Please see weekly listings.
