is posted in this document.
Our Mission
Kentucky Country Day School’s offers after-school programs that improve
the lives of children by nurturing their minds, bodies, and spirits through
programs that incorporate independent learning, academics, and enrichment activities.
After-school programs provide appropriately structured
activities in the hours following the school day. These activities establish
opportunities for empowerment and skill building; development of sound
character and positive social norms; and integration of family, school
and community supports—all in an environment supervised by caring
adult role models.
Instructors
KCD after school programs are taught by KCD faculty and members of noted Louisville
organizations.
Share your time and talent!
Do you have a special talent or hobby that you would like to share with KCD
students? Please contact Cassandra Payne, Director of Auxiliary Services
and Summer Programs, at (502) 814-4325.
Homework
Club
What is it? Homework Club is
a service provided by KCD to help students in grades 2–4 in completing
their homework. Students are supervised by a teacher in a quiet atmosphere
as they work.
When is
it? Homework Club meets from 3–4:00 P.M. on Monday-Thursday.
Students may participate in as many days as they wish.
How do you join? Beginning immediately, e-mail
Ms. Nevels anytime before 12 noon of the Monday
of each week you want your child to attend Homework
Club. You may email once with all of the dates you wish your child
to attend. The cost is $10 per day. You will be billed at a later date.
What
should students bring? Students should bring a snack, all homework
materials, and a book for reading. They should be picked up at 4:00 in

Mission
The mission of KCD's
Lower School Intramural Program is to provide young children with an
introduction to a variety of sports within KCD’s
comfortable, supportive, and convenient environment. We provide a thoroughly
enjoyable
and rewarding experience for all of our players, regardless of ability.
We emphasize the importance of teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect
for one
another and for the sports themselves while promoting self-confidence,
physical fitness, and Bearcat pride. We instill in our players the
value of healthy
competition and the understanding that both winning and losing are part
of this experience, each being vital to the growth and development
of a good
sportsperson. Above all, we want every player to have fun because fun is
an essential part of learning.
Coaches
Instruction comes from a variety of sources: KCD varsity coaches, dedicated
parents, and KCD varsity athletes. All our intramural coaches exhibit patience,
caring, and athletic competence. Parents who are interested in coaching or
other duties are encouraged to contact Intramural Director Cassandra
Payne.
Fees
Fees cover expenses such as equipment, coaches, clinics from outside sources,
trophies, and t-shirts. These fees also help the school to make various improvements
without necessitating an increase in tuition.
All fees must be paid prior to start of each
intramural sport.
Times
Sports run for six weeks and generally involve two hours of instruction and/or
games per week. Most sports take place on weekdays following after-school
programs, from 4:30–5:30 p.m. Children who are not enrolled in an after-school
activity may participate in the Bearcat Club from 3:05 until 4:30 p.m.
Due to gym or field space limitations, as
well as other reasons, some sports are held on Saturdays.
Refunds
An 75% refund will be offered until the start of the second practice. After
that time, no refunds will be offered.
