Geocaching 101: Basics of Geocaching (Grades 5th-6th)

Geocaching is a high-tech treasure hunting game played throughout the world by adventure seekers equipped with GPS devices or smartphones. The basic idea is to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, outdoors and then track and share your experiences. Campers will learn all about geocaching, have the chance to explore and geocache at a local park and to create and publish our very own geocache! Though not required, downloading the official Geocaching App on your campers smart phone will be most useful for this camp.
