Varsity Field Hockey wins Regional Championship
Congratulations to our Varsity Field Hockey team who won the 2024 Kentucky High School Athletic Association (KHSAA) Region 1 Championship on Tuesday, October 22 at Ballard High School.
The Bearcats, led by Coach Patrick McAnulty, defeated Ballard High School 2-1 to take the title.
Following the game, athletes Leighton Spears ’25, Ellie Beam ’26, and Mary-Louise Crain ’25 were all named to the Region 1 All Tournament Team and Ceci Flowers ’26 was named the Tournament MVP.
The Bearcats went on to compete in the State Quarterfinals at KCD on Thursday, October 24, where they defeated Holy Cross 10-0.
On Saturday, October 26, the team finished the season as State Semifinalists after a tough match against Sacred Heart. Congratulations to Avery Yerasimedes and Harper Purcell who were named to the All-Tournament team!
