At Kentucky Country Day School, we believe that the fine arts enrich the lives and academic experience of all our students. At every grade level, students participate in fine arts classes that encourage them to exercise their imagination and creativity while
- mastering fundamental skills, tools, and techniques from a range of disciplines;
- learning to appreciate and think critically about art from a variety of times and cultures;
- understanding connections between the arts and other academic subjects;
- nurturing a lifelong love of creativity and self-expression.
Fine arts instruction begins with
visual art and
music in the Lower School, then expands in the Middle and Upper Schools to include classes in drama as well as choral and instrumental music. The middle and upper school arts program also offers students a diverse and exciting set of electives.
The arts are an important part of our
STEAM program, which connects art & design to science, technology, engineering, and math.
