Lower school music students sing, chant, play, and move as they perform and create music. Whenever possible, music classes connect thematically with the classroom curriculum to help students make important connections between disciplines.
Middle schoolers continue to explore rhythm, meter, timbre, and tone by playing instruments, singing, reading and writing music, as well as studying composers from the past and present. Electives such as Piano Lab, Chorus, and String Orchestra allow students to pursue in-depth study of choral or instrumental music.
Upper School students can continue to study music individually or by participating in one of our performing arts groups: Upper School Orchestra, Chorale, and Select Choir. Electives such as Music Theory and Electronic Music add further options for students.
