Welcome to Summer Stretch 2025 at Kentucky Country Day School!

Campers can choose between academic and enrichment opportunities, sports, and the arts in a caring and nurturing environment that promotes healthy minds and bodies. KCD camps begin the week of May 27!

Registration
All courses offered through the KCD Summer Stretch program are open to students in the Greater Louisville Community. Our programs are open to all, regardless of race, creed, or ethnic origin. Please see course listings for grade and age requirements.

Register for Summer Stretch 2025 online at this link. Classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. A minimum and a maximum number of attendees are required for most courses. You will be notified if a class is full or has been canceled due to lack of enrollment at least one week before the class begins.

Registration for all camps ends one week in advance of the start date.

Refund Policy
If your plans change and you need to cancel or change summer camps, please be aware of the following policy.
  • Full Refunds: In order to receive a full refund you must make the request at least 30 days prior to the start date of the camp.
  • Partial Refund: A partial refund is available as long as you cancel with at least 14 days (2 weeks) notice.  You will be charged a $35 cancellation fee and any remaining funds will be refunded to you.
  • No Refund: No refunds are issued within 2 weeks prior to the start date of that camp.
  • Camp Credit: If you need to cancel a camp, but would like your funds transferred to another camp or week without sacrificing the $35 cancellation fee, that is possible as long as it is at least 2 weeks prior to the start of the camp.  If you are inside of the two week window, unfortunately no refunds or credits are available.
Lunch Bunch
If your child is registered in a morning and an afternoon camp you may sign them up for Lunch Bunch.  Campers must be registered and there is a $15 fee for the week for care during the hour between the camps.  After their morning camp, they will be escorted to the lunch room from 12-1 pm. We will also escort them to their afternoon camp following lunch. All students that are staying for lunch must bring a brown bag lunch. There WILL NOT be any hot lunch served and the fee does not include any food or snacks.

Lunch bunch has a limited number of spots, so if you need this service, it is highly recommended to sign up early.

Summer Stretch FAQ

List of 6 items.

  • Do you offer a before and after care program?

No, we are a specialty camp program and do not offer before or after care programs. We do offer a Lunch Bunch program for those taking an AM and PM camp. This means you can attend all day from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm.  No care is available before or after these hours.
  • Who runs each camp?

Each camp is run by a qualified instructor who is responsible for the camp program and schedule. Many instructors are KCD faculty members and coaches. Some are outside vendors from Louisville and even some from out of state.
  • What happens if a camp fills up?

Every camp has a maximum number of children that it can take. This number is based on staffing ratio requirements. Therefore, once the camp fills up, we can not take any additional children. We do have a waitlist set up for each camp, but that is only accessed if someone drops out. In some cases, the camp lead will hire additional staff to take on additional children, but that is not guaranteed. Early registration is highly suggested.
  • Do you offer a sibling discount?

At this time we do not. Because each camp is independently run and operated, it is not feasible to offer this type of discount.
  • Are snacks provided?

Generally speaking, no. However, some camps may have snacks as part of their program. This information will be sent out by the camp lead well before the start of camp. Each camper should bring a water bottle with them to camp daily.
  • When can I expect additional information from my Camp Lead?

Each Camp Director is asked to send their welcome email to families one week in advance.  If you need additional information, you may email the camp office at summer@kcd.org and we will get your question directed to the director.
