8th grade boys basketball team dominates Anchorage tournament
Congratulations to the 8th grade boys basketball team on winning the Anchorage Invitational Tournament on Saturday, February 8. The Bearcats took down the host Anchors 44-31 in the championship game. KCD also defeated Portland Christian and Collegiate in the quarterfinals and semifinals of the tournament.
In addition to bringing home the championship trophy, the Bearcats had four players named to the all tournament team. Ivan Antskaitis, Caleb Brown, Kane Ladegast, and Harrison Lage were recognized for their outstanding play during the tournament.
Head coach KJ Abrams and assistant coach Tim West led this team to an outstanding 19-5 record this season. In addition to defeating many of the independent schools on the schedule, the team beat several public schools as well.
