Interim Head of School candidate visits: May 8 & May 10

Dear Bearcat Community,

On behalf of the Search Committee, we are pleased to report great progress in our search for an interim Head of School for the 2024-25 school year.

Our consultants from The Education Group (TEG) reported strong interest in the position and spoke to over thirty potential candidates, an exceptionally large pool for interim headships. After reviewing their materials, interviewing the top candidates, and speaking to references, TEG presented nine candidates to our committee for our consideration.

The committee narrowed that field to six semifinalists, and we conducted video interviews with these individuals. All of the semifinalists have extensive experience as Heads of School. Following these interviews, the committee deliberated and chose to invite two candidates for on-campus visits next week.

All KCD parents and guardians will have the opportunity to meet with each of these candidates.

Parent Meetings with Candidate #1:
  • Wednesday, May 8 at 8:15-9 am in the Blackbox Theater
  • Wednesday, May 8 at 2:15-3 pm in the Blackbox Theater
Parent Meetings with Candidate #2:
  • Friday, May 10 at 8:15-9 am in the Blackbox Theater
  • Friday, May 10 at 2:15-3 pm in the Blackbox Theater
Following each candidate’s visit, everyone who attended a meeting will have the opportunity to complete a survey to share their thoughts on each candidate.

A biography on each candidate will be released a day or two before each visit.

We encourage all of you to come out and meet these candidates and to continue the robust participation in the search process that we have seen so far. Please remember that, as we are interviewing them to determine if we see a good fit, they are also interviewing us to decide if they find this opportunity attractive enough to spend a year here. Please be honest but positive and upbeat about our school and city.

Our thanks goes to the members of the search committee who have worked tirelessly to get us to this point and to the KCD staff for attending to the details of these visits.

Sincerely,

Dr. Swapna Chandran
